Father’s Day will be celebrated in Russia on the third Sunday in October. About it it says in the decree of President Vladimir Putin, published on the portal of legal information.
“In order to strengthen the institution of the family and increase the importance of fatherhood in the upbringing of children, I decide to establish Father’s Day,” the decree says.
Thus, Father’s Day will be celebrated for the first time in Russia on October 17, 2021. There will be no day off on this day.
Mother’s Day in Russia was introduced by a decree of President Boris Yeltsin in 1998. This holiday is celebrated on the last Sunday in November.
