The Russian women’s team won the World Team Chess Championship. About it it says on the website of the Russian Chess Federation.
Alexandra Goryachkina, Alexandra Kosteniuk, Ekaterina Lagno, Polina Shuvalova and Alina Kashlinskaya played for the Russian team at the tournament. In the final, the athletes beat the Indian national team twice. The first match ended with a score of 2.5: 1.5, the second – with a score of 3: 1.
In the group stage, Russian athletes beat the national teams of France, Azerbaijan, India, Armenia and Spain. In the quarterfinals, they won against the US national team, and in the semifinals, against the team from Ukraine.
The Russian team became the winner of the World Chess Team Championship for the second time. For the first time a team from Russia won the tournament in 2017.
