US spacecraft Cargo Dragon has successfully returned to Earth

US spacecraft Cargo Dragon successfully splashed down in the Atlantic after returning to Earth. About it reported development company SpaceX.

Eve ship successfully undocked from the International Space Station. After the ship left orbit, its descent capsule with the help of a parachute system made a soft landing off the east coast of Florida. It will be lifted out of the water by the rescue vessel GO Searcher, which is located in the landing area.

Cargo Dragon delivered about 2.2 tons of cargo to Earth, including the results of scientific experiments carried out on the ISS. It is currently the only ISS supply spacecraft capable of returning cargo to Earth.

In total, the Cargo Dragon spacecraft stayed on the ISS for a month. It was launched into orbit by SpaceX’s Falcon 9 launch vehicle on August 29. The next day, it successfully docked with the ISS, delivering more than three tons of food, equipment and materials for scientific experiments by the station’s crew to the station.
