The Zavodskoy District Court of Kemerovo issued a verdict of guilty to all the defendants in the first case of the fire in the Zimnyaya Vishnya shopping center, transfers RIA Novosti.
The court established the guilt of all eight persons involved: the general director of Zimnyaya Vishnya LLC Nadezhda Suddenok; Georgy Sobolev, Technical Director of Kemerovo Confectionery Plant (the owner of the shopping and entertainment center); the general director of the plant Yulia Bogdanova; Igor Polozinenko, Head of System Integrator; an employee of the same company, an engineer of the fire system, a cook by education, Alexander Nikitin; an employee of a private security company Sergey Antyushin; the chief of the guard of the fire and rescue unit No. 2 Sergei Genin; head of the fire extinguishing service of the first detachment of the fire service Andrei Bursin.
The state prosecution requested 14.5 years of imprisonment for Bogdanova, 13 years for Sobolev, and 14 years for Suddenok.
In addition, the prosecutor’s office requested 9.5 years in prison for the guard Antyushin. The state prosecutor asked Polozinenko and his subordinate Nikitin to appoint 6 years and eight months and 5.5 years in prison, respectively. Firefighters Genin and Bursin – 5 years and 6 years in prison, respectively.
Recall that a fire in the Zimnyaya Vishnya shopping center in Kemerovo occurred on March 25, 2018. The fire in the mall broke out on the top floor, where there were cinemas and where there were many children on the day off. Of the 60 killed, 37 are children. More than 450 people were recognized as victims in the case. According to the investigation, the fire occurred as a result of a short circuit in the electrical wiring on the fourth floor of the shopping center.
