Rakova is suspected of fraud with government contracts in the field of education worth more than 50 million rubles. The Moscow Higher School of Social and Economic Sciences (Shaninka) appears as the contractor in the embezzlement case. The investigation intends to check a number of contracts for 150 million rubles.

In 2019, Rakova served as Deputy Minister of Education. She left the position in March 2020 and moved to Sberbank as vice president.
