In Moscow, at seven in the morning, the police came to search the parents of The Insider editor-in-chief Roman Dobrokhotov. This is the journalist’s mother reported OVD-Info.
At the moment, Dobrokhotov’s mother does not get in touch.
Presumably, a search is also taking place in Dobrokhotov’s apartment, where his wife and children are now.
What the searches are connected with is still unknown.
In July, Dobrokhotov and his parents were searched for libel. Phones, laptop, tablets and passport were seized from the editor-in-chief of The Insider.
The case was initiated at the request of the lawyer of the Dutch citizen Max van der Werff against unidentified persons under Part 2 of Art. 128.1 of the Criminal Code (libel) on April 26, 2021. According to the Internal Affairs Directorate for the South-Western Administrative District of Moscow, an unidentified person in an unidentified place, no later than November 12, 2020, posted a tweet about “the involvement of Dutch citizen Max van der Werff in disinformation about the downed Boeing MH-17” in the Twitter account of user Roman Dobrokhotov. Dobrokhotov himself is involved in the case as a witness.
Formerly The Insider found outthat Max Van der Werff collaborated with the GRU and received money from the Russian Ministry of Defense for disseminating information about the downed Boeing in the Donbas.
