In August, a criminal case was opened against Rakova under Part 4 of Art. 159 (large-scale fraud). On the eve of the ex-deputy minister, searches were carried out in his country house and office. Rakova became a defendant in a criminal case of embezzlement.

Rakova is suspected of lobbying for the allocation of budgetary funds to the Fund for New Forms of Education Development (FNFRO), where she was the general director. The money was intended for the implementation of state contracts within the framework of the federal project “Teacher of the Future”.

Sberbank claims that the case against her is not related to the activities of the organization, writes Kommersant.

In 2019, Rakova served as Deputy Minister of Education. She left the position in March 2020 and moved to Sberbank as vice president.
