The Ministry of Justice has excluded the Anti-Corruption Foundation and the Foundation for the Protection of Citizens’ Rights from the register of non-profit organizations – “foreign agents” in connection with their liquidation. About it informs RIA Novosti.
The department said that this is “an exclusively technical procedure.”
FBK was introduced to the register of “foreign agents” in October 2019, allegedly due to “attempts to influence the government and foreign funding.”
June 9 this year Moscow City Court admitted FBK, FZPG and Navalny Headquarters are extremist organizations. From that moment on, the activities of the foundation are officially prohibited, and its members and even just supporters, according to the new law, will not be able to be elected to the legislative bodies of all levels for several years.
On the eve, in relation to Alexei Navalny and his associates were excited new criminal cases under articles on the creation and leadership of an extremist community, as well as participation in it. Investigative Committee claims that Navalny did this in order to “change the foundations of the constitutional order” and undermine “public security and state integrity of the Russian Federation.”
