Roskomnadzor started keeping a register of social networks. About it informs RIA Novosti.
The register includes eight resources – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Likee, YouTube, VKontakte and Odnoklassniki.
The Telegram messenger, which is also a social network, was not included in the list.
At the end of December, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the law on large social networks. According to him, social networks with traffic from 500 thousand users per day are recognized as large, it was reported that their register would be created.
The law states that social networks are required to moderate content and block hate speech, defaming inaccurate data, child pornography, information about the manufacture of drugs, methods of suicide, illegal lotteries and alcohol. As conceived by lawmakers, social networks should also keep a register of user complaints and provide it to regulatory authorities upon request.
