Attempted coup d’etat in Sudan – Al Arabiya

The Sudanese authorities said they had prevented a coup attempt in the country. About it informs Al Arabiya citing government sources.

According to the TV channel, the leaders of the group that tried to stage a coup d’etat were detained. An investigation is underway.

Earlier, the putschists attempted to establish control over the building where the offices of the state media are located.

Recall that since August 2019, Sudan has been led by a transitional civil-military administration, which came to power as a result of a military coup. In April 2019, the country’s former president, Omar Al-Bashir, was ousted.
