The 40-year-old deputy chief engineer of the engineering and technical department of one of the universities of Ufa became a defendant in a criminal case on accepting a bribe on an especially large scale, informs the official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Bashkiria.
The director of a construction company addressed the police with a statement about extortion of a bribe. He said that his company signed several contracts with one of the Ufa universities for the overhaul and current repair of buildings and buildings of the university for a total of about 44 million rubles. Later, the deputy chief engineer of the university turned to the director of the company and demanded a bribe in the amount of about 7.5 million rubles for “rendering assistance” in signing the acts of completion. An employee of the university estimated his services at 20-45% of the cost of each concluded contract. In case of refusal to transfer the bribe, the deputy chief engineer threatened to achieve termination of the contracts.
The police detained the intermediary of the bribe directly during the transfer of part of the bribe (about a million rubles) in the parking lot near the shopping and entertainment complex in Ufa. And the deputy chief engineer was detained in his office.
How clarified in the regional administration of the RF IC, an employee of the university was charged under Part 6 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (taking a bribe on an especially large scale), but he did not admit his guilt. The court chose him a measure of restraint in the form of detention.
