The Golos movement released a statement about the past elections, in which it called them not free and violating Russian law. Full text published website traffic.
“Preliminary assessing the past elections, the“ Golos ”movement has to state with regret that it cannot recognize these elections as truly free: they fully comply with the Constitution, laws of the Russian Federation and international electoral standards, since these results were achieved during a non-free, unequal election campaign in conditions of restricting the exercise of passive electoral rights of a significant number of citizens. This does not allow us to assert that the real will of the voters was formed as a result of a free election campaign. Violations in the course of voting and counting of votes, the three-day voting procedure and the way the vote counting proceeded in a number of regions, during which, in our opinion, there was also a significant distortion of the results, do not allow us to speak about the reliability of the results shown now by the system of election commissions ” , – pointed in motion.
As noted in the “Golos”, in 2020-2021 in Russia there was a significant change in legislation, which actually deprived many politically active citizens who are opponents of those in power, the opportunity to participate in elections. This happened contrary to the Constitution, the organization noted. A part of the political spectrum of Russia was cleared from the ballot paper, which deliberately did not allow a large number of Russian citizens to elect their representatives.
In addition, “Golos” points to the state monopolization of the media and the political involvement of the courts and election commissions, which led to a multiple advantage of the country’s administration in campaigning, which was actually conducted in violation of election legislation.
In addition, on voting days in some regions, violations were observed indicating the return of the practice of direct falsifications: expulsion of observers, restriction of access to information, violation of procedures that led to distortion of the voting results.
Golos noted that the recorded facts of falsifications and violations in observance of procedures, including during the counting of votes, require additional verification, including a detailed analysis of videos from polling stations, only after which it will be possible to give a final assessment of the results of the vote count.
