Voter turnout in the governor elections in different regions of Russia ranged from 13% to 40%. About it reported at the information center of the CEC.
The highest voter turnout out of nine subjects was recorded in the elections for the head of Tyva – 40.01%. A high turnout is also observed in the elections for the head of the Chechen Republic – 38.89%.
The lowest turnout has so far been recorded in the elections for the head of the Tver region – 13.58%.
In Russia pass three-day elections of the State Duma deputies of the VIII convocation. 14 political parties take part in them. The Russians will have to elect 225 deputies from party lists and the same number from single-mandate constituencies. Voting will last from 17 to 19 September. Also, in some regions, elections are held for governors, deputies of legislative assemblies and city councils. For the first time since 1993, the OSCE will not observe elections in Russia. For sanitary and epidemiological reasons, Russia limited the number of observers from the organization, after which the OSCE announced that it would not send its representatives to the elections. In addition, the CEC closed access to observation cameras from polling stations, explaining this by too high financial costs for their three-day work.
