The Ministry of Culture refused to issue a distribution certificate for the film “Temptation” directed by Paul Verhoeven. Relevant document published on the website of the department.
“Temptation” is a new work by Verhoeven, the film took part in the program of the Cannes Film Festival. In the center of the plot of the picture is an Italian nun living in the Renaissance. She falls in love with a young novice; she is overcome by erotic visions. When the forbidden passion becomes known, the nun is accused of adultery and possession by the devil.
The premiere of “Temptation” in Russia was scheduled for October 7th. The distributor of Verhoeven’s film in Russia was Capella Film.
Earlier, the Ministry of Culture refused to show in Russia the Romanian film “Bad Fuck, or Crazy Porn”, which was also distributed by Capella Film. However, later the name was changed to “Crazy Adult Movie” and censorship changes were made. As a result, he was admitted to the rental.
