The Russian pharmaceutical company R-Pharm has begun production of a coronavirus vaccine developed by the University of Oxford and the British-Swedish company AstraZeneca. This drug will be for export only. How informs RIA Novosti, said the first deputy head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Vasily Osmakov.
“As for the domestic market, we are fully provided with our own products. Everything is possible, especially in the future, but here and now, in the wake of the rush of demand, we work with our production, we support our farm, ”Osmakov said.
In July, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that recognition of foreign vaccination certificates and foreign vaccines in Russia is only possible if other countries recognize Russian vaccines and certificates. “Of course, a counter movement is necessary here. That is, we cannot simply put our citizens, who also experience big problems when traveling abroad, in a discriminated position, ”he said.
Previously, Janssen, a division of the American Johnson & Johnson, which developed the coronavirus vaccine of the same name, statedthat she is ready to cooperate with all interested parties in order to enter the markets of Russia and other CIS members with her drug.
Other foreign manufacturers have also applied for the registration of their vaccines in Russia.
In addition to the Sputnik V vaccine, there are three more drugs for coronavirus in Russia: Sputnik Light, EpiVacCorona and KoviVak. Scientists say that the effectiveness of EpiVac has not been confirmed, studies have shown that antibodies are not produced after it, but the official authorities hide this fact. There is little information about the effectiveness of KoviVac.
