In the Moscow region, the electoral commission approved more than 500 remote voting places for the September 17-19 elections. About it writes “Novaya Gazeta” with reference to the decisions of the territorial commissions.
According to regulatory documents, members of precinct election commissions on September 17 and 18 will travel to remote settlements with a portable box and issue ballots by the lake, public transport stops, a store, a construction market, a pharmacy, near a temple and in stalls.
The creation of such places for voting, in accordance with the resolutions of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation on multi-day elections of June and July 2021, is motivated by the fact that residents of those settlements that are difficult to reach or in which there are no suitable premises for voting have the opportunity to vote.
At the same time, as noted by Novaya Gazeta, not all of the sites allocated in the Moscow region are located in hard-to-reach places. So, for example, in the Voskresensky urban district, the site in the village of Krasny Kholm is a 30-minute walk from the site located in the Zolotovskaya school.
The State Duma of the seventh convocation has adopted several laws that change the electoral legislation. We are talking about the opportunity to vote in elections and referendums for three consecutive days, as well as to conduct remote electronic voting at the federal level and vote outside the voting premises. This led to the fact that the 2020 Single Election Day was marked by large-scale fraud. In particular, cases of voting on stumps, shops and in car trunks were noted throughout the country. After that, in Vologda, even appeared art object – a stump named after the head of the CEC Ella Pamfilova.
