The Basmanny District Court of Moscow has sent Maria Platonova, a 20-year-old HSE student and ex-headquarters designer of State Duma candidate Anastasia Bryukhanova, under house arrest until November 14. This was reported by the correspondent of The Insider from the courtroom.
On September 16, in the morning, Platonova’s apartment was searched. The equipment was seized from her and taken away for interrogation to the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation. The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee for Moscow charged Platonova with incitement to mass riots (part 1.1 of article 212 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation)
The ruling on the prosecution says that Platonova and other persons, together with Dmitry Chebanov, “made a decision to induce and otherwise involve an unlimited number of people in Russian cities in the riots” through Telegram channels.
Maria Platonova denies participation in the alleged events.
The crime belongs to the category of grave crimes, it involves up to 10 years in prison.
