The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on incitement to mass riots (part 1.1 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) during the elections to the State Duma. About it reported on the SK website.
As stated in the message of the department, 11 people “created a network of telegram channels, in which they posted publications and conducted campaigning activities aimed at organizing mass riots” from September 17 to 20.
In the videos published by the defendants in the case, the investigators found signs of “incitement to violent actions directed at an indefinite circle of people.”
One of the suspects is Dmitry Chebanov, founder of the Chto Delat Telegram channel. Others are not named.
The investigation asks to arrest all the defendants in the case.
