The Arbitration Court of the Krasnoyarsk Territory has canceled the broadcasting license of the local TV Channel 8 at the request of the Roskomnadzor administration. Solution available on the court website. The reason for the lawsuit, which was filed back in July, was a “software violation”, allegedly not complying with the license.
Telegram channel “We Can Explain” tied up deprivation of Channel 8’s license with recent plots about the head of the local government of the ILV, Natalya Burdyukova. Journalists found her undeclared house on the site. The author of the story, Anastasia Batanova, said that after the release of the Yenisei official, a protocol was drawn up against her (according to which article, it is not known).
The editors of Channel 8 called the court’s decision politically motivated and unprecedented in practice. Roskomnadzor suspended the channel’s license back in 2019. Last year the channel carried out a warning under the article on carrying out entrepreneurial activity in violation of the requirements (part 4 of article 14.1 of the Administrative Code).
