Police detained Alexander Mavridi, who escaped from a temporary detention center in Istra in August, along with four other prisoners, informs Interfax with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the ministry, during the arrest, he tried to actively resist law enforcement officers, but was rendered harmless.
Five people escaped from the Istra IVS on the night of 6 August. Alexander Mavridi is suspected of the murder of the head of the Meat Empire and Ozersk Sausages companies, Vladimir Marugov (known as the “sausage king”).
All those who escaped from the IVS were detained, only Mavridi remained free. Ministry of Internal Affairs announced a reward of 1.5 million rubles for help in his capture. Investigators opened a case abuse of authority and detained two employees of the detention center.
