<p>Investigators are checking information about a three-year-old boy tied to a hospital in St. Petersburg, <a href="https://www.fontanka.ru/2021/09/12/70131506/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">writes</a> Fontanka.  Earlier, a local resident posted on Instagram a video with a child taken at the city children&#8217;s infectious diseases hospital.</p>
<p>According to the woman, an orphan named Vitya was treated “like a dog”: he was tied to a child&#8217;s chair and a crib so that he could not move on his own.</p>
<p>Doctors justified this treatment of the boy.  “You can&#8217;t pick it up!  Then he will cry and you will not put him to sleep.  He is a child of drug addicts, he is already spitting, and what will happen next! &#8221;  they said.</p>
<p>The hospital staff also prohibited the woman who filmed the video from approaching the boy.  &#8220;Don&#8217;t give him anything, don&#8217;t touch him!&#8221;  &#8211; said the paramedics.</p>
<p>After the video spread in social networks, the hospital&#8217;s office of the children&#8217;s ombudsman in St. Petersburg reacted to what was happening in the hospital.  And on the night of September 12, employees of the Investigative Committee arrived at the medical institution.</p>
<p>After the intervention of the children&#8217;s ombudsman, Vitya was untied and handed over to a nanny for round-the-clock supervision.  According to the author of the video, the child was first put on a potty and taken for a walk.</p>
<p>The nanny will look after the boy &#8220;until he recovers completely,&#8221; said Oleksandr Popeyko, a spokesman for the Children&#8217;s Ombudsman&#8217;s Office.</p>
