Federal Security Service (FSB) made the Artpodgotovka movement, previously recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation, to the list of terrorist organizations. About it informs Interfax.
The reason was the decision of the Second Western District Military Court of June 18, 2020. It came into force on June 7 this year. Total terrorist registry 35 organizations, including Al-Qaeda and Islamic State.
Participants of “Artpodgotovka”, as think in the FSB, “they planned high-profile extremist actions” – in particular, arson of administrative buildings and attacks on Interior Ministry officers “with the aim of provoking mass riots.”
The Artpodgotovka YouTube channel was created by Saratov politician Vyacheslav Maltsev. In 2016, he ran for elections to the State Duma, spoke in videos about the planned “revolution”. In October 2017, “Art preparation” recognized extremist and banned in Russia. Maltsev himself left Russia and received political asylum in France (as of the end of 2018).
The politician made the decision to emigrate after a criminal case was brought against him about “public calls for extremist activity” (part 1 of article 280 of the Criminal Code). Maltseva in absentia arrested and put on the wanted list. More than a dozen of Maltsev’s associates become persons involved in criminal cases. Maltsev himself is included in the list of terrorists and extremists of Rosfinmonitoring.
