Russia and Belarus agreed to sign an agreement on a single gas market by 2024, and also approved the price of Russian fuel for Minsk for the current year at the same level. About it stated Vladimir Putin at a joint news conference with Alexander Lukashenko.
“Based on the results of lengthy discussions, it was possible to develop mutually acceptable approaches to the gas issue. The price for Belarus for Russian natural gas for 2022 will remain at the current year’s level. At the same time, by December 1, 2023, a document will be signed on the creation of a unified gas market within the Union State, ”Putin said.
The Russian leader also added that the possibility of concluding agreements on the unification of oil and oil products markets and on a single electricity market is being considered.
In 2021, the price of Russian gas for Belarus is $ 128.5 per 1,000 cubic meters, in 2020 Minsk paid $ 127 per 1,000 cubic meters. Russia annually exports about 20 billion cubic meters of gas to Belarus.
