Russia and Belarus may create in the future a single union parliament of the two countries. About it stated Russian President Vladimir Putin after meeting with Alexander Lukashenko.
“We believe that first of all it is necessary to deal with the economy, and then everything will naturally require additional regulation. Including it can be at the level of the union parliament, I do not exclude that such can be created, “Putin said.
He added that this issue is currently not being discussed and is not on the agenda yet.
“Whatever Lukashenka signs, it will cause a harsh reaction from the international community. And since it is not recognized by many states and international organizations, all these agreements will be revised, ”Franak Vyachorka, adviser to the leader of the Belarusian opposition Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, told The Insider. “In the end, these agreements will not be valid, because nobody asked the Belarusian people. And the Belarusian people will not give up their independence, ”added Vyachorka.
Previously became knownthat Russia and Belarus agreed to sign an agreement on a single gas market by 2024, and also approved the price of Russian fuel for Minsk for next year at the current level.
