Tina Kandelaki left the post of General Producer of Match TV to become Deputy Head of Gazprom-Media Alexander Zharov. This was reported by the press service of the company.
In his new position, Kandelaki will continue to develop GPM Match and the holding’s entertainment TV channels (TNT, TV-3, Friday! And others). She will also be responsible for the launch and development of the Match news agency.
“Alexander Alexandrovich’s proposal is no less a challenge than the launch of the Match TV channel six years ago, and I intend to make every effort to ensure that these tasks are successfully solved,” Kandelaki said.
Kandelaki has held the position of General Producer since the launch of Match TV in 2015. In her place will come the chief editor of the TV channel, Alexander Tashchin.
During her work at Match TV, Kandelaki has repeatedly been at the center of scandals. So, during the last of them sports columnist Nobel Arustamyan resigned from the TV channel due to disagreement with the editorial policy.
On August 24, Match TV published an interview of the journalist with the Rostov footballer Pavel Mamaev, which was more devoted to the athlete’s personal life than football. Arustamyan opposed the airing of this interview, as he felt that such an editorial assignment was contrary to his professional and ethical principles.
