In Belarus, security officials came to a meditation camp near Borisov and dispersed a gathering of Vipassana practitioners. About it informs “Mediazona. Belarus ”with reference to one of the participants of the event.

According to him, there were about 70 people at the event, including foreigners. It began on September 3 and was supposed to last ten days.

“In the morning we meditated and I wanted to go to the room to continue meditation with the permission of the teacher there, but when I reached the door I saw two people in civilian clothes and caps with the flag of Belarus, red and green. Behind them were about 10-15 [человек] in the form of riot police with truncheons, marching right at us. One girl was pushed away from the door and she fell a little, ”the source told Mediazona.

After a conversation with the organizers of the event, which lasted several hours, some of the people were taken to the ROVD.

“Employees came and took photos of the hall and all of us. Some wanted to go to the toilet, because they kept us for about 1.5-2 hours, but they couldn’t go out, even if they really wanted to. After that, the organizers and foreign citizens were taken to the ROVD, where they were asked about what was happening and what they were doing here. We were released after about 10 minutes, when the organizers and foreigners were taken away, ”said the participant of the event.

He added that the organizers were demanded to stop the event with the wording “or we will already speak differently.”

According to the interlocutor of “Mediazona”, the organizers drew up protocols under the article on violation of the procedure for organizing or holding mass events (article 24.23 of the Administrative Code).
