Together with the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Yevgeny Zinichev, 63-year-old film director Alexander Melnik died in Norilsk. About it reported in the press service of the EMERCOM of Russia.
They clarified that during the departmental shooting of the training film of the Ministry of Emergency Situations on the protection of the Arctic zone of Russia, Melnikov slipped and fell off a cliff into the water. Zinichev tried to hold him, but fell with him. Both died.
Alexander Melnik is a Russian film director and screenwriter, a member of the Guild of Russian Filmmakers. Known for the films “Territory” (2015) and “New Land” (2008). His son Anton Melnik is a producer and general director of the Andreevsky Flag film company.
Zinichev was 55 years old. He headed the Ministry of Emergency Situations since May 2018, at the same time he became a member of the Security Council. As the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, he replaced Vladimir Puchkov, who resigned from the post of minister against the background of a fire in the Kemerovo shopping center “Winter cherry”. From 2006 to 2015, Zinichev was Putin’s personal adjutant.
