The chairman of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, taught a lesson to conduct an official check in relation to the deputy head of the Investigative Committee for the Stavropol Territory Anatoly Demin. About it reported on the website of the department.
The reason, as the press service said, was “various” publications of a “critical nature” in the media and social networks. What kind of articles concerning Demin are in question, the Investigative Committee did not specify.
At the end of July “Notepad. Stavropol” wrotethat a high-ranking investigator has a three-story mansion in one of the most prestigious districts of Stavropol. According to an extract from Rosreestr, the house with an area of 546.3 m was built in 2012. Its cadastral value is 6.7 million rubles. The mansion is officially registered with Demin’s wife.
In addition, the name of Demin in 2019 appeared on such siteslike Rucriminal.info and Kompromat groups. The publications talked about the fact that Demin is associated with the Arashukov family and in 2011 he headed the department for especially important investigations, having no experience in investigative work. Telegram channel «VČK-OGPU» also claimed that the investigator demanded, through proxies, 30 million rubles from one of the judges of the Pyatigorsk City Court.
