Since the beginning of the year, the Russian Ministry of Health has raised prices for 32 drugs from the list of vital and essential drugs (VED), writes “Pharmvestnik”. Prices for drugs from this list are set by the state in agreement with the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS).
According to the newspaper, anticancer drugs have risen the most since January – 10 items. Also, among others, there are two vaccines, two ophthalmic drugs and two antiepileptic drugs.
For example, a package of anti-thymocyte immunoglobulin “Atgam”, which is used in transplantation, produced by the American Pfizer, has risen in price from 49.6 thousand rubles to 150 thousand rubles. It turned out to be the most expensive drug on the list. The cheapest drug on the list is the bronchodilator aminophylline. Since the beginning of the year, a pack of pills from the Borisov Medicines Plant has grown in price from 9.65 rubles to 13.33 rubles.
By calculations “Pharmvestnik”, since November 2020, when they began to operate new rules, according to which the Ministry of Health received the right to change the prices for drugs from VED, requests for price increases from 51 manufacturers were satisfied. Another 14 companies were refused.
In mid-August, social activists warned on the shortage of drugs for HIV-infected. The Treatment Preparedness Coalition said that the subsidized medicines purchased by the Ministry of Health will only be enough for 77% of patients. For six months, the authorities spent 26 billion rubles for these purposes, but ready-made courses of therapy were still not enough.
