A court in Krasnoyarsk appointed 13 years in a general regime colony to businessman and former deputy of the local Legislative Assembly Anatoly Bykov in the case of organizing a double murder. About it informs Kommersant.
The verdict was based on guilty verdict jury trial. The prosecutor’s office demanded 14 years and 11 months in prison for the 61-year-old businessman. When sentencing, the court recognized age, health status, positive characteristics and charitable activities as mitigating circumstances.
The prosecutor’s office said it was satisfied with the court decision. Bykov’s defense intends to appeal the verdict.
“In this case, the norms of the criminal procedure legislation were substantially violated – on the provision of evidence for the defense, on asking questions to witnesses. The court actually acted as the second state prosecutor. All this will be the basis for appeal against the verdict “, – stated businessman’s lawyer Alexey Prokhorov.
Anatoly Bykov was detained in May 2020 on charges of organizing the murders of Krasnoyarsk entrepreneurs Alexander Naumov and Kirill Voitenko in 1994. Consequence considered Bykov, the creator of a criminal community. According to the Investigative Committee, in 1993-1995, the businessman “rallied around himself the organized criminal groups of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.” Among them are the gangs of crime bosses Vilor Struganov (known as Pasha Tsvetomuzyka) and Vladimir Tatarenkov.
According to the prosecution, in 1994 Bykov fell out with 23-year-old Alexander Naumov, whom the Investigative Committee calls a member of the group headed by the businessman, “in connection with the unfair, in the opinion of the former, distribution of income.” After a quarrel, an attempt was made on Bykov’s life. The businessman, according to the investigation, decided that the explosion at his car was organized by Naumov together with his friend Kirill Voitenko. Bykov, in response, instructed to kill them to his acquaintance, the already mentioned authority Tatarenkov, who attracted members of his gang to this. They followed the victims, and on July 24, 1994, they killed Voitenko and Naumov. Tatarenkov testified against Bykov, he himself denies guilt.
From 1998 to 2000 Bykov was the chairman of the board of directors of KrAZ. From 1997 to 2016, Bykov was elected a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. In 2013, he headed the local branch of the Patriots of Russia party. In October 2000, Bykov was accused of ordering the murder of one of his partners. In the summer of 2002, the court sentenced him to 6.5 years suspended for organizing an attempt on the life of businessman Vilor Struganov (Pasha Tsvetomuzyka). The assassination attempt was staged. In July 2003, Bykov received another year for hiding the traces of the murder of Oleg Gubin, but was amnesty.
