Head of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Ella Pamfilova asked The election commission of St. Petersburg to replace the election poster with candidates for the Legislative Assembly elections – Boris Vishnevsky from Yabloko and his two counterparts with similar initials.
She called the incident “a disgrace” and “disgrace”, and also called on the duplicate candidates to withdraw from the elections. The head of the CEC described the situation with Vishnevsky’s “clones” as “the apotheosis of dirty technologies.”
“Bind these district commissions, where they received documents, let them invite them and take pictures in the form in which they are. Replace, disavow this poster … “, – noted Pamfilova (quote according to RIA Novosti).
In August it became known that two of his namesakes, Boris Gennadievich and Boris Ivanovich, were registered in the same constituency as Yabloko’s member Boris Vishnevsky. Both – Viktor Bykov and Alexey Shmelev – changed their names on the eve of the election campaign, wrote “New”. The same candidates later provided the electoral commission photographs, in which they are depicted with a haircut and a beard, like the “real” Vishnevsky.
Boris Lazarevich Vishnevsky did a complaint to the head of the Central Election Commission. Photos of the duplicate candidates have been recognized as a photomontage, Yabloko pointed out, referring to the opinion of experts. In addition, the collectors of signatures for doubles were not seen in the territory of the constituency; as a result, the same person somehow managed to collect 8,000 signatures for both. It is impossible to do this legally, Vishnevsky noted.
