In the Sverdlovsk Region, pensioners at polling stations will be given food cards with 150 rubles, writes Znak.com citing sources. The information was confirmed by the chairman of the Sverdlovsk organization of veterans Yuri Sudakov.
The cards will be valid only in Pyaterochka stores. The certificates have already been printed and are in stock. They are made in the same style as the official banner in honor of the Day of the senior citizen. The Sverdlovsk organization of veterans negotiated the action with benefactors. Patrons allocated 100 million rubles for it, Sudakov said.
According to him, the amount on the card was determined based on the total amount of funds allocated for these purposes. “We are grateful to the sponsors. <...> For our retirees, when they go for groceries, this will allow them to receive a pleasant bonus. Each card will be credited with 150 rubles. The sum can be spent until December 1, ”said the head of the organization of veterans.
In the press service of X5 Retail Group (owner of Pyaterochka) statedthat we are talking about gift cards. “This is a publicly available tool. Moreover, the activities within which they [карты] will be implemented, they are not specified in the contract, and the terms of their use are set in accordance with the rules of the card, ”the company said.
The cards will be issued to the Ural pensioners as part of the celebration of the Day of the pensioner, but only during the three-day elections to the State Duma and the Legislative Assembly of the region, which will be held on September 17-19. At the Ministry of Social Policy of the Sverdlovsk Region reportedthat funds for the campaign were allocated by a certain charitable foundation, which one is unknown.
August 22 Putin on the eve of the State Duma elections announced payments to some citizens. The president instructed pensioners, including working people, to pay 10 thousand rubles each, the military and security officials – almost a third more, an average of 15 thousand rubles. A week later, he signed relevant decrees.
Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko statedthat lump sum payments to retirees are not related to politics. In the Kremlin, commenting on the low ratings of United Russia ahead of the elections, statedthat the ruling party allegedly never engaged in populism, was always responsible for what was happening in the country.
