In the Ivanovo region, the election commission allowed the September elections of deputies of the State Duma to be held outside the precincts of election commissions, including on the football field, near shops and at bus stops. About it informs portal Ivanovo.news.
According to the newspaper, a total of five voting places will be organized in Ivanovo outside the precinct election commissions, including one next to the store. In the city of Vichuga, five places for “street” voting are also planned, including a vacant lot and a platform near the trade booth. There will be nine such voting places in Kineshma. They plan to organize elections at the Vysshaya Liga stores, at the playground and at a public transport stop. In Shuya, “street” voting will take place on the football field in the educational campus.
The regional election commission explains the need for street precincts by “lack of premises for voting” and “difficult transport links.” However, according to Ivanovo.news, polling stations are available in all of these settlements.
The State Duma of the seventh convocation has adopted several laws that change the electoral legislation. We are talking about the opportunity to vote in elections and referendums for three consecutive days, as well as to conduct remote electronic voting at the federal level and vote outside the voting premises. This led to the fact that the 2020 Single Election Day was marked by large-scale fraud. In particular, cases of voting on stumps, shops and in car trunks were noted throughout the country. After that, in Vologda, even appeared art object – a stump named after the head of the CEC Ella Pamfilova.
Elections to the State Duma are scheduled for this fall. Simultaneously with them, direct elections of heads of nine regions (in three more subjects they will be elected by deputies) and deputies of 39 regional parliaments should take place. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, voting this year will be three days – from 17 to 19 September.
