In my opinion, it was the best possible, because Americans now feel extremely uncomfortable. It seems to me that Zelensky managed to convey an important story – they help those who help themselves. And it is important not to publicize complaints, but to give a clear signal: “How can I be of help to you?” – because America now needs some kind of positive shifts in public space. In my opinion, it succeeded, large agreements on armament were signed, it was finally indicated by documents that armaments should be supplied in connection with the aggravated situation on the borders of Ukraine and the temporarily occupied territories. America has once again clearly, clearly, and not only in word, but also in deed, confirmed the position of the world community that Ukraine is united and the borders must not be violated.
A large contract has been signed with the Ministry of Defense. For the first time since independence, Ukraine was represented at a sufficiently high level and there was a talk about space interaction. And now we are waiting for the Minister of Defense, secretary of defense.
In general, I think that it was very important to change the tone from the passive-aggressive “they don’t take us to NATO” to another story: “Let’s talk about how to do so that we all feel good.” This is, of course, a breakthrough story.
Everyone remembered the photo of Zelensky’s press secretary Sergei Nikiforov, in which he sticks out his tongue and “holds” a monument to George Washington with his fingers. Goonies – he is also a goof in Africa. There is no other word for it. This shows that despite the already existing experience at the equator of the presidential term, the president’s entourage still treats high politics like show business. And I am sure that the press secretary is now having fun and rejoicing that his name is now known to everyone. Such a bright trick, such a new sincerity.

This is a very successful visit for Ukraine for several reasons. First, the United States confirmed its intention to further cooperate with Ukraine in the defense sphere. We agreed to supply Ukraine with arms worth $ 60 million, including Javelin systems. And this is a very great result. The American company Westinghouse signed a memorandum with the Ukrainian Energoatom on the possibility of constructing five new nuclear power units, which will practically oust Rosatom from the Ukrainian market.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the president directly, contact was established between them. This is on the pragmatic side, but politically it is very important that President Biden did not mention the Minsk process in his comments. This is a rather unprecedented thing, since usually at meetings of Ukrainian leaders with foreign colleagues, the formula sounds like a mantra that the Minsk process has no alternative and must be followed. This was not the first time this was said at the talks with the US President. And this is a positive signal for Ukraine, which has long been striving to reformat the Minsk process, that is, not only to take it away from the cannibalistic Minsk, but to rework it by inviting new players there, primarily the United States. The presence of Germany and France in this process did little to resolve the situation in Donbass.
It is very good that neither the Steinmeier formula, nor the elections, nor all this nonsense that the Russian side constantly carries is not mentioned. It wasn’t said as if it didn’t exist. Most likely, one can expect that America decided to take bolder steps on the issue of helping Ukraine in the war with Russia, and, perhaps, we can talk about a new negotiating format.
After the huge success of the “Crimean Platform”, which was the undisputed success of Ukraine, because it absolutely does not matter what kind of representation was at the event, it is important that representatives of 46 governments of all EU countries and NATO members signed the resolution of the “Crimean Platform”. Perhaps, it is on this basis that Ukraine will try to conduct further negotiations, because the deadlock of the Minsk agreements is obvious to absolutely everyone. There are no more people who signed them, apart from Vladimir Putin, who is constant in this equation. François Hollande is gone, Angela Merkel is leaving, Petro Poroshenko is gone. And with this departure of Merkel, the Minsk process will finally become obsolete, not to mention the fact that Belarus has rapidly slipped into the authoritarian regime of Lukashenka. Naturally, there can be no talk of any meeting of peace initiatives in Belarus, because Belarus cannot be considered neutral and, therefore, interested in helping Ukraine in its war with Russia.
America cannot be expected to open military bases in Ukraine tomorrow. Naturally, we are not talking about Ukraine becoming a NATO member tomorrow, but he rejected the thesis that everyone was tired of Ukraine. Nobody is tired of Ukraine. We remain on the agenda and this is a great victory for President Zelensky, because he does not allow the world to calmly close its eyes to the Ukrainian situation and Russia’s war against Ukraine. This is very well received in Ukraine itself and turns Volodymyr Zelenskyy into a traditional Ukrainian president who fights for the interests of his country, not someone else’s.
