The Leninsky Court of Orenburg declared illegal the use of physical force by the police against a local resident Dmitry Teleshenko, who was detained at a rally in support of Alexei Navalny on January 31. About it informs Novaya Gazeta with reference to the Committee Against Torture.
The man complained that people in civilian clothes and without insignia from the Ministry of Internal Affairs had used force against him. During the arrest, they also did not introduce themselves. “There were no requests from their side. They abruptly grabbed my arms and legs and just carried me, ”Teleshenko said.
When he asked the security officials to release him and promised to go to the paddy wagon, he was hit in the face. Teleshenko was taken to police station # 1, where made up protocols of alleged disobedience to the request of a police officer (part 1 of article 19.3 of the Administrative Code) and violation of the established procedure for holding a rally (part 5 of article 20.2 of the Administrative Code). He was in the detention center for two days.
The man filed a complaint against the actions of the police, but the UK opened a criminal case refused… After that, the lawyers of the “Committee against Torture” appealed to the court with a demand to declare illegal the use of physical force against Teleshenko. The court partially satisfied the claim of human rights defenders.
Earlier the court in Vladivostok decided to recover from the local administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs 10 thousand rubles for causing moral harm due to illegal detention at the shares on January 31. At the beginning of the year, actions were held throughout the country in support of Alexei Navalny, who was detained at Sheremetyevo. The most massive rallies were on January 23 and 31. According to OVD-Info, on January 31 shares detained more than 5.5 thousand people.
