On Friday, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Ufa in Bashkiria held a hearing on a criminal case on the financing of extremism. It was initiated against 59-year-old Ilmira Bikbaeva, who transferred small sums of money to the mother of opposition journalist Ayrat Dilmukhametov, who was convicted of extremism.

The state prosecutor demanded 4 years of imprisonment for the defendant in a general regime colony, informs “Idel.Realii”.

Ilmira Bikbaeva was charged under Part 1 of Art. 282.3 (financing of extremist activities) in December 2020. She did not admit her guilt, claiming that she was helping the mother of the politician and publicist Airat Dilmukhametova, who, after the arrest of her son, “had little means of subsistence.”

Employees of the regional department of the FSB decided that the pensioner, having transferred 1,500 rubles to the bank card of the journalist’s mother Agilyash Dilmukhametova in two payments in 2018 and 4,500 rubles in seven payments in 2019, “made provision of funds that were deliberately intended for the preparation and commission of extremist crimes by Dilmukhametov. “.

Rosfinmonitoring included Ilmira Bikbaeva on the list of extremists and terrorists pending a court ruling.

Airat Dilmukhametov received a history education, in the 1990s he worked at the Bashkir State University and the Institute of History, Language and Literature of the Ufa Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Since 2006, he has been the editor of the Ploschad Vosstaniya newspaper.

In 2003, Dilmukhametov published the brochure “At the Slave’s in Slavery. Portrait of the First President ”, in which he spoke about the President of Bashkiria, Murtaz Rakhimov.

In 2005, after speaking at a rally against the monetization of benefits, Dilmukhametov became a defendant in the case of public calls for extremist activities. In May 2006, the court sentenced him to one year suspended imprisonment.

In 2008, Dilmukhametov received a suspended sentence of two years in prison for publishing in a special supplement “Ploshchad Vosstaniya” published by the Provincial News newspaper. This time he was accused not only of calls for extremism, but also of calls for riots.

Three years later, Dilmukhametov was convicted of inciting ethnic hatred, calls for extremism and public justification of terrorism for his publications in the Maidan newspaper. He was sentenced to 6 years in prison in a penal colony. Later, the Supreme Court of Bashkiria commuted the sentence to three years in prison.

In 2015, Dilmukhametov was again sentenced to three years in prison under the article on justifying terrorism for his book Akhyr Zaman (The End of Times). The journalist was serving his term in a strict regime colony.

In 2016, the human rights society Memorial recognized Dilmukhametov and blogger Robert Zagreev, who were accused of having published Dilmukhametov’s article on his Internet resources, as political prisoners. According to human rights activists, they were tried in “exclusively in connection with social and political activities”, and “criminal cases were initiated despite the absence of corpus delicti and with partial falsification of evidence”.

In April 2018, at a meeting of the discussion political club of the Bashkir public organization Bashkort, Airat Dilmukhametov announced his intention to run for president of Bashkiria. A year later, a criminal case was opened against him on calls for separatism, propaganda of terrorism, public calls for extremist activities.

In 2020, the Central District Military Court in Samara sentenced Airat Dilmukhametov to nine years in a maximum security penal colony and banned him from engaging in activities related to the administration of Internet sites and posting information on them for three years.
