Spanish National Police arrested in Barcelona, ​​a crime boss who has been wanted in Russia since last year.

The man was detained at the airport while trying to enter the country with a fake Ukrainian passport. “The fugitive is qualified as a cruel and influential thief in law – the highest level in the Russian criminal hierarchy – and is on the wanted list,” the Spanish police said in a statement.

The name of the arrested person was not named there, specifying only that the law enforcement agencies of Georgia took part in the investigation. According to the police, the thief in law planned to “anonymously continue to lead his [преступной] organization in Spain ”. Last December, crime boss escaped from the building of the October court of Vladimir, having asked to go to the toilet. Sukhumsky is accused in a criminal case of “occupying a higher position in a criminal group” (Article 210.1 of the Criminal Code), this article provides for up to 15 years in prison. At the meeting, he was supposed to be assigned a preventive measure.

Before that, Sukhumi served four years in the Vladimirsky Central prison on charges of drug trafficking and forgery. In April 2020, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced about the “lifelong undesirability” of Abuladze’s stay in Russia, after which he was sent to a special detention center for foreigners awaiting deportation.
