Aminat Lorsanova, who fled from Chechnya last year from persecution in connection with homosexuality, spoke out in support of the Chechen woman Khalimat Taramova, whom they tried to “treat” from a relationship with her beloved girl. She wrote down video message to the head of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin, The Insider was told by the press service of the Russian LGBT Network.
The girl urged the head of the Investigative Committee to pay attention to the illegal persecution of Taramova, noting that her statement law enforcement agencies have refused to consider for two years in a row. “I managed to escape from Chechnya only on the fourth attempt. I was forced to be a devout Muslim through beatings, reading the Koran, and forced psychiatric treatment. <...> For 5 thousand rubles [чеченские врачи] ready to destroy a person’s life. This is the amount my family paid to close me in [психоневрологическом] dispensary, “- said Lorsanova.
She recalled that two months have passed since the arrest of Taramova in Makhachkala, where she fled from her relatives. In mid-June, Grozny State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company released a plot with the participation of the girl, dedicated to her “return” to the family after her escape. Since then, there has been no information on the whereabouts and condition of Halimat, Lorsanova said. According to her, Taramova could be killed, “injected” with psychotropic drugs, or forcibly given in marriage. “She will not stand it and will simply commit suicide. This is all just because she wants to live an ordinary human life. Alexander Bastrykin, how much more must suffer and die in Chechnya for you to stop covering up the cases of criminals? ”Lorsanova pointed out.
In early June, the security forces came to a crisis apartment in Makhachkala and detained its residents, including Taramova, who had previously fled from her family due to beatings and threats. Later, Taramova and her friend Anna Manylova were forcibly taken to Chechnya. Her location was only revealed to the media on June 14, when she appeared on the air of the Grozny TV company. The girl said that she was with her family and that everything was fine with her. The authorities argued that the story of the forcible removal of Taramova was allegedly an invention of the “provocateurs”. At the moment, the whereabouts of Taramova are unknown. According to the Telegram channel Baza, on July 31, she made repeated escape, however, she was tracked by cameras and caught on the border of Chechnya and Dagestan.
