The administration of the Moscow Detention Center “Lefortovo” allowed inmates to sleep during the day and take water in plastic bottles for walks, reported RIA Novosti, member of the Public Monitoring Commission (POC) Alexey Melnikov.
This decision was made after several complaints from the POC detainees. “Earlier we talked about the fact that in the pre-trial detention center it was forbidden to sleep during the day. To clarify: sleeping during the day is now also allowed – on a made-up bed, respectively, ”he said.
On the introduction of a ban on sleeping during the day became known August 22. The former governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Sergey Furgal, who has been in jail for over a year on charges of organizing murders, also complained about the new restrictions.
