Vladimir Putin’s aide, former Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky, at the Novoye Znanie marathon delivered a lecture to schoolchildren and students on the importance of historical memory. Excerpt from the speech showed TV channel “Rain”.
As part of his speech, Medinsky said that Google is tearing Russian Internet users from their roots by spreading false information.
“If you go to Google, then the year of foundation of Russia is considered to be 1991. It is very symptomatic. So what is being done? Whether by design or accident, Google is pulling you off your roots. What happened before 1991? Is it not Russia or what? It is very oppositional – to lure a person with a magic pipe so that they follow him, to tell them all nonsense. When a person does not know his story, he has a clean brain, you can tell him anything and he will believe, ”Medinsky said.
He also called schoolchildren watching opposition blogs babies chasing a pipe.
Medinsky spoke about the punishment for the members of the Pussy Riot group for the “punk prayer”, noting that 500 years ago they burned at the stake for such a thing.
“Famous case with PussyRiot. The girls danced in the temple and they were punished for it. Someone thinks that this is too much, someone thinks that it is not enough. You will come to the temple today and spit on the icon in the church if your head is out of order. What will you get for it? There will be nothing. Grandma will hiss at you, they will wipe the icon. In the worst case, they will be driven out of the church, or maybe they will simply say: “Stop spitting. How are you behaving? ” What would have happened to you 500 years ago? They would have burned them at the stake and the case was closed, ”Medinsky told the schoolchildren.
Pussy Riot members held a “punk prayer” at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in February 2012. They were detained, accused of insulting the feelings of believers and hooliganism, and sentenced to two years in prison.
According to the organizers of the New Knowledge marathon, which started on September 1, it has already collected more than 22 million views. 48 speakers, including statesmen, entrepreneurs, representatives of culture, science, art, and sports, spoke to the audience in six cities of Russia. The marathon was opened by President Vladimir Putin.
