Arkhangelsk eco-activist Andrei Christopher (also known as Drevarkh the Enlightened), accused of assaulting a police officer, was released from house arrest with a recognizance not to leave. About it informs 29.ru.
According to Khristoforov himself, on August 30, he signed a written undertaking not to leave the place, dated August 16, although from August 15 to 20 he was under house arrest.
“Why did this happen, you have to ask the investigator who is in charge of the case. The Lomonosov court, by its decision, canceled two months of the pre-trial detention center for me and appointed five days of house arrest – from 15 to 20 August. They ended, and I was prostrated, ”the accused explained.
Recall activist accused in the use of violence against a representative of the authorities (part 1 of article 318 of the Criminal Code), he faces 10 years in prison.
Khristoforov took an active part in protests against the construction of a landfill at Shies station in Arkhangelsk. In June 2019, he was detained for allegedly using a stop crane on a train when approaching a station. According to the investigation, during the arrest, the activist hit the policeman with an electric shock. Khristoforov himself was injured and was taken to the city hospital with a diagnosis of concussion.
In September 2019, the activist left Russia, after which he was put on the federal wanted list. Khristoforov sought political asylum in Ukraine. Not receiving it, in August 2021 he returned to Russia and was detained by law enforcement agencies.
