Popular Afghan folk singer Fawad Andarabi was killed for publicly performing music. This was reported by a local news agency Times Now and Later confirmed his son, former Afghan Interior Minister Masoud Andarabi.
The musician was killed by Taliban terrorists. This happened a few days after the leaders of the extremist movement introduced new rules in the country, including a ban on music, the newspaper points out.
“Music is prohibited in Islam. We hope that we will be able to convince people not to do such things, instead of putting pressure on them, ”- said the official spokesman for the terrorists Zabihullah Mujahid.
The Taliban have persecuted singers and actors, insisting that public performance of music is prohibited in Islam before. The terrorist movement followed a similar policy when it last ruled the country from 1996 to 2001.
