In Moscow, they detained four activists who were holding a picket in support of the media, recognized by the Ministry of Justice as “foreign agents.” About this “OVD-Info” reported the detainees themselves. They were taken to the Arbat militia department. Lawyer Yulia Sycheva has already left for them.

On August 20, the Ministry of Justice recognized the investigative media Vazhnye Stories and the Dozhd TV channel as “foreign agents”. The register of natural persons – “foreign agents” included the journalists of “Important stories” Roman Anin, Olesya Shmagun, Dmitry Velikovsky, Alesya Marokhovskaya, Irina Dolinina, Roman Shleinov and the head of the non-profit organization “Yakutia – Our Opinion” Stepan Petrov.

In July, the Ministry of Justice added The Insider to this register. Journalists from the Project and Open Media were also included in the list of foreign media outlets. The publisher of “Project”, the American organization Project Media Inc, was declared “undesirable”. In April, Meduza was added to the register.
