In a military unit in the south of Kazakhstan, where a fire broke out earlier and there were explosions of ammunition, there was another explosion. About it reported press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic.
As stated in the message of the defense department, “on the territory of the engineering ammunition warehouse, where a fire occurred on August 26, today, on August 29 at about 12.20, cotton was recorded.”
There were no casualties or injuries, there were no people at the scene of the incident. The reasons are being investigated.
Recall that earlier this week a fire broke out at the engineering ammunition depot of military unit No. 28349, stationed in the Bayzak district of the Zhambyl region of Kazakhstan. As a result, more than a dozen explosions took place.
During the liquidation of the consequences of the explosions and fire, according to the latest data, 13 people died and about a hundred were injured, most of them were rescuers, military personnel and prosecutors.
Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan Nurlan Ermekbayev statedthat he intends to resign after the explosions in military warehouses. He said that “in the very first minute” after the announcement of the explosions, he decided to resign, adding that the final decision on this issue would be made by the country’s authorities. “My main goal is to eliminate the consequences of the emergency,” he said.
