The security forces detained members of a criminal group in the field of funeral services in Moscow, including employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. About it reported in the press service of the FSB administration in Moscow and the region.
The criminal scheme was based on the transfer by the Ministry of Internal Affairs officers of official information about calls to the police on the fact of death to the ritual agency. After that, representatives of the funeral company contacted the relatives of the deceased “in order to impose expensive burial services.”
The group consisted of officers of the MIA on duty units in the Nagorny and Severnoye Izmailovo districts. According to the FSB, they regularly received large sums of money from the funeral agency for informing about the deaths of citizens.
The organizer of the criminal scheme tried to escape to Ukraine, he was detained at the border on August 20.
The FSB also searched the office of the funeral company and the car of its head, where they found a fake pass with the symbols of the FSB administration in Moscow and the region.
