Residents of Afghanistan, who graduated from Russian military universities, wrote a collective letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, in which they asked to take them out of the territory of Afghanistan because of the threat of being killed by the militants of the Taliban terrorist movement. About it writes agency “Fergana”.
According to the letter, we are talking about 150 graduates. When asked by Ferghana journalists about why there is not a single name under the letter, the authors of the letter replied: “There are a lot of us. But if someone writes their details or real name … They are just afraid. ” As the agency notes, an email address is provided for feedback. [email protected]
Ferghana reports that the Afghans mentioned in the letter studied at Russian universities on a contract basis. Among the educational institutions that the authors of the letter graduated from, the agency’s interlocutor named the Tyumen Higher Military Engineering Command School, the A. V. Khrulev Military Academy of Logistics (St. Petersburg), the S. M. Kirov St. Petersburg Military Medical Academy, Kazan Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, as well as military universities in Ufa and Blagoveshchensk.
After completing their studies in Russia, the Afghans returned to their homeland. Ferghana clarifies that many of them, before the seizure of power by the Taliban, worked in the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Islamic Republic.
“Several people recently contacted the Russian Embassy in Kabul, they were simply given an email address, saying that if they have any questions, they can write there. But this is mainly due to the situation that has developed at the moment in our country. [Посольство] closed, no one is accepted, ”said the agency’s interlocutor.
The letter itself says that among the Taliban there is a widespread opinion that “everyone who studied in Russia and the CIS countries is communists, atheists and enemies of Islam, enemies of Muslims, and therefore must be destroyed.”
“The Taliban greet representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry with one hand, with the other they are killing us! Now we are asking for help from Russia, which recognized the previous government and gave us education according to Russian standards. According to the Taliban, the graduates are communists, Russians, fake Afghans. If the Russian world exists, then we are a part of it, ”the authors of the letter emphasize.
On August 15, Taliban terrorists took over Kabul and declared control over Afghanistan. President Ashraf Ghani resigned and left for the UAE. Ordinary Afghans also began to flee the country occupied by the Taliban: a stampede began at the Kabul airport, in which perished at least 20 people. Former Vice President of the country Amrullah Saleh announced himself as acting head of state and called on to resist the Taliban. It is located in the Panjshir province.
