The activities of a number of religious organizations from Latvia and Ukraine are recognized as undesirable in the Russian Federation, informs on Monday, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia. The “black list” includes the International Christian Movement “New Generation”, “Evangelical Christian Church” New Generation “(Latvia); Spiritual Administration of Evangelical Christians of the Ukrainian Christian Church “New Generation”, Spiritual Educational Institution International Bible College “New Generation” (Ukraine).
The Prosecutor General’s Office noted that the activities of these organizations “pose a threat to the foundations of the constitutional order and security of the Russian Federation.”
Recognition of the activities of a foreign or international non-governmental organization as undesirable in Russia entails, among other things, a ban on the establishment on the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as “the termination of the activities of its previously created structural divisions,” the supervisory authority specified.
For the implementation of activities on the territory of the Russian Federation of these organizations, the legislation provides for administrative and criminal liability, the Prosecutor General’s Office recalled.
Information about the decision was sent to the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation to enter the information into the list of foreign and international non-governmental organizations, whose activities are recognized as undesirable in the Russian Federation, and to make them public.
