In Khabarovsk, near the building of the regional department of the FSB, single pickets are held in support of independent media and journalists, whom the authorities have recognized as “foreign agents.” About it informs “Siberia. Realities”.

Participants hold posters: “For free media. You yourself are foreign agents ”,“ Media is a tsunami, you cannot stop bars ”,“ I / We are “Rain”.

The pickets are attended, in particular, by the journalists of “Aktivatika” Kristina Gritsaenko and Yekaterina Biyak.

April 20 TV channel “Rain” and “Important stories” made in the register of mass media – “foreign agents”. Also in this register were included six journalists of “Important stories”: Stepan Petrov, Olesya Shmagun, Alesya Marokhovskaya, Irina Dolinina, Roman Shleinov, Dmitry Velikovsky, Roman Anin.

Important Stories is an online publication that specializes in investigations. For example, last year the project released an investigation about how people from Vladimir Putin’s entourage share garbage market of 2 trillion rubles. The publication was founded in 2020 by Novaya Gazeta journalists Roman Anin and Olesya Shmagun. Journalists of the publication Roman Anin, Olesya Shmagun and Dmitry Velikovsky are Pulitzer Prize winners. Roman Anin at present passes as a witness in a case of violation of privacy with the use of official position.

Foreign legal entities and Russian individuals included in the register are obliged to register a Russian legal entity within a month, which will be the “organizer of distribution” of information materials. This legal entity will be subject to the same obligations as NGOs – foreign agents (that is, the obligation to submit a lot of reports to the Ministry of Justice, undergo an annual audit, etc.).

People included in the register of “natural persons-foreign agents” are obliged to submit to the Ministry of Justice reports on their activities and spending of funds once every six months. In addition, all distributed materials must be marked with a foreign agent label. Failure to fulfill these obligations is punished.
