Foreign students will be able to return to Russia to continue their studies, regardless of whether air communication with their countries has been resumed. About this TASS reported in the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science.

This initiative of the department was supported by the headquarters for the fight against coronavirus. The exact rules by which students will be able to come to Russia are now being negotiated. Distance learning will be organized for those unable to return from abroad, authorities said.

Foreign students studying at Russian universities will be able to get vaccinated against coronavirus, said the head of the Ministry of Education and Science Valery Falkov. “Who among the foreign students has not yet been vaccinated and expresses such a desire, Russian universities will certainly provide such an opportunity,” he said (quoted by RIA Novosti).

Total in Russia, by data departments, about 300 thousand foreign students study. At the end of 2019, many of them went on vacation to their countries. They did not have time to return to school due to the fact that the borders were closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. This March the Ministry of Education allowed some foreigners who left because of the pandemic to return to Russia, however, only about 30 countries were on the so-called “green” list.
