More than 600 people were evacuated from sanatoriums in Mari El due to forest fire

Because of a forest fire, rescuers evacuated 634 people from sanatoriums in Mari El, including 423 children. About it informs press service of the main department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region.

“All evacuated children, guests and employees of health institutions were taken to the building of the National Presidential Boarding School in Yoshkar-Ola, where most were handed over to their parents and sent home. 104 people (including 87 children) are accommodated in the building of this school. 32 adults are placed in the children’s military-patriotic camp “Avangard” “, – said the department.

A forest fire in the Medvedevsky district of Mari El began in the afternoon of August 19, about 5 hectares of forest were damaged. In connection with the fire, rescuers restricted traffic on the Vyatka federal highway.
